This project is a logotype and some branding I provided for a client I met at an MMA gym I was attending. The client was ex-military and was making a start-up that was going to instruct security and self-defense practices.

In terms of design the client wasn’t quite sure what they wanted. They stated that elements they were interested in including were: the eye of Horus, raptor bird anatomy, the letter R, and reticle or other firearm related motifs.

I knew that it would be very difficult to arrive at resolution without more direction so I created several rough prototypes so that the client could begin to hone in on a direction and pick elements that they appreciated and wanted included.

After we arrived at a resolved icon, I created many typography examples so that the client could also have a consistent logotype.

When the logotype was decided, I produced some sample color palettes with variations of the logo.

After the colors were chosen I provided the client with all their deliverables and a document that was a sort of quick-and-dirty style guide that explained how to execute their branding, and how to use the different variations of their logo.
