This project was made while working for SUUSA (the events organization of Southern Utah University). The project was to create promotional media for their printed A-Frames, Vertical and Horizontal Digital Displays, Twitter and Facebook posts and printed Tabletops. Unfortunately at this time, the communication and briefs were very poor (something that would improve as the organization went through changes). I had only heard about some of the specific games that would be played via an individual tangentially connected to the organizers, and so Jenga was not included in the original design. I had originally included a figure falling down the diagonal division because my concept for the poster was that a person was falling into a game world (because the entire gimmick of the event was that they would be playing large life-size games). This promotional media would go through a few phases of approval because parts of the student government, sponsoring organizations, and the leadership of the marketing branch all had a say in what would eventually published. One person felt the silhouette of a falling figure was far too sexual and so the design had to be quickly changed. I was told with very little time to address the issue, and given additional information (like the inclusion of Jenga). I scrambled to make alterations to the design in order for it to be quickly approved and distributed. It was an important lesson for me, to understand that promptly providing or demanding details is crucial when operating around important deadlines.
